The changes should normally be communicated to us by your employer, but it is your responsibility to discuss them with them to ensure that we are informed of changes to your training contract. If in doubt, talk to your qualified training professional (QPRT). The initial protocol on small quantities has been made available to States whose nuclear materials are minimal or non-nuclear and without nuclear materials in a “facility”. The initial small quantity protocol suspends the application of many provisions of the Generalized Guarantee Agreement (Part II). While this simplifies the implementation of security measures in a state that has an initial protocol on small quantities, it also entails a number of restrictions. None of the AMTRA examination centres currently offer training that is aimed directly at NTVs, although the basic courses and accompanying modules can be useful: these are listed on the AMTRA website. However, most NVs believe that the home study, taken from the print and online training manual, is sufficient. Agreements of this type only cover nuclear materials, non-nuclear materials, facilities and other elements specified in the guarantee agreements. They are based on the protection methods defined in INFCIRC/66/Rev.2 and on earlier versions of this document.

States parties to these Conventions undertake not to use nuclear materials, annexes or other objects subject to the Nuclear Weapons Agreement or Military Promotion Agreement. The IAEA implements safeguards in accordance with these agreements in three states that are not parties to the NPT. 1VNs should register with AMTRA, book training/revisions directly with the relevant university and send the exam booking form to AMTRA if they are ready. The small quantity protocol is a protocol that can be concluded in conjunction with a comprehensive guarantee agreement. It has been available since 1971 and its text was standardized in 1974 (initial protocol on small quantities). Your training contract defines the circumstances under which it may be terminated and it is recommended that these clauses be reviewed. The main cause of termination of training contracts and, therefore, the possible termination of the employment relationship is the failure of the audit activity. A new employer may ask you to complete a longer training period by extending the duration of your training contract to a maximum of five years.

This way, you may find that it takes longer to qualify when you change employers during your training.
